If you change the controller in the project by right clicking on the new controller hardware tab and selecting Use this hardware in project, it won't update the template for the differences in the Inputs/Outputs pages between the MC038 and the MC050.

I would suggest creating a new project with the MC050 HWD file, open the old MC038 SCS file in the SCS viewer and copy your code across. You will have to reconnect and reconfigure the I/O but there are some differences between the MC038 & MC050 pins that will need to be adjusted for anyway.

You have to add the controller via update centre, then open up guide, on the right side find hardware, and then locate your hardware type, right click and "use this hardware in project" if I recall correctly. Took a bit of fiddling the first time I had to do this.

With the controllers i would i expect you will have to convert the MC038 code to a MC050, then that means reassign all the I/O in the login to suit to new pin configs.

From 1 Dec 2014 the DP6xx series went from a LX version to a TM version. Going on the compile date of your LHX file of 2008, you would be looking for a DP610LX

Hi guys!

I've got a need to replace the target controller in the project: MC038 should be replaced by MC050, and in another project DP250 should be replaced with DM430E. The reason to replace is that MC038 and DP250 are not available any longer.

So, the question is how to do that properly. I haven't found an easy way to do that...

Hello,

I do the same thing. Then, I open the SCS files on a second screen. This way, I can browse through the program and check that the CAN messages match.

Another great feature is listing the CAN messages received and sent by each control unit in the programs by creating subpages. This allows you to see the source or destination of a message at a glance.

I have had projects with DP700, MC050 and MC024.
When I close one sub-project, I save the scs file of the project.
So, I can oben it in next poject and look and copy from oter project.
And yes, I copy also a table with can-comunication-messages from one project to another.
So, 3 controllers are easy to manage.

Only in the service tool can you access everything together.
Sometimes I work with two computers: On one computer, I program the display, and on the other, a controller.
Usually, the display is the master and sends commands to a controller to set outputs or even rewrite EEPROMs or query inputs, etc.
For fast processes, I like to offload the software to the controllers.

What I usually do is I have an excel file with commands listed over CAN and then have multiple guide files, each for each controller, there really isn't an easy solution to this AFAIK. It quickly turns into a logistical nightmare. Creating some flowcharts in draw.io helps with keeping my head sane when doing projects like this to memorize CAN nodes addresses and such. The only way to test this is as previous commenter made about using the service tool and hooking up a workbench to test the whole setup.

So thanks to a user here I've figured out there are two types of the display in question the LX and the LM, and I need the LM display of the 610. Is there anyone from Danfoss support team that could chime in on whether 610 were either LX or LM or could be both?
