Component backwards, rotated or inverted, allowed?
« on: March 09, 2014, 02:39:42 PM »
Hi,

I have seen, someone have mirrored (F8) a component.

Do you think, this is a good technique? I don't think so. Is it allowed?

Only use "F8" for inputs and outputs, because there is only 1 connection,
but on components there are more than one connections and so you have to think about the timing.

What do you think?

Hi Bernd!

Thanks for your question.

Mirroring components is normally not a good idea.

The execution order is from left to right and keeping the drawing structured in the same way makes it readable, this is one of the strengths of PLUS+1 GUIDE.
Mirroring symbols could create a lot of confusion as it is not always obvious that a symbol is mirrored at a first glance.

Hope this helps and have a great day // Thomas

Thanks Thomas, this helps.

So it should be better, you do not permit it by software or there must come a warning,
if someone wants to rotate or mirror a component.

Have a sunny and a nice day,
Bernd

Hi Bernd!

For once it is actually sunny in Sweden today  :D

Best practice is described in the Development guidelines, you can find the document:
Start - All Programs - Danfoss - PLUS+1 GUIDE - Documents.

We do not want to add too many pop-up windows with warnings in the tool, it can also be quite annoying.

Best regards // Thomas
