Has anyone made the SOFT message with variable byte length and would like to share it?

I can explain it and implement it in C, I have posted a request for J1939 multipacket support (transport protocol) - i might write something as i need to know engine versions but it will be tricky. the other thing is the data is in ascii - but we can show strings in the displays! on single chars!
