Repeat Connection Tool

Can someone explain to me how to use the repeat connection tool? I used to know how to use it but I have forgot and can't figure the thing out. I remember it being a handy time saver.

You use it to make multiple connections that are the same distance apart on the page.

1.  Make first connection as normal ("R" and make connection)
2.  Click 'Repeat Connection' icon
3.  Click on blank wire ports that you want to repeat the first connection.
