CS10 over VPN
« on: July 13, 2022, 09:22:55 AM »
Greetings,

I am currently facing issues when trying to connect a CS-10 wireless gateway through a VPN network. I read from a previous post that it's possible to achieve this connection.

-   I checked “Proxy Enabled” feature in CS-10 configuration page
-   I can correctly ping the CS-10 device from my PC through the remote local network (I assigned 192.168.100.100)

In Service Tool, I start a gateway search through “PLUS+1 Interlink” protocol (non-remote) but can’t find the device.

Could you please sort out this issue?

Service Tool Version: 2022.1

Best regards,
Gio

I haven't personally had luck with this, but like you I have heard that some people have made it work.

The conclusion I cam to is that any normal corporate firewall setup would prevent peer to peer connection on the ports that are used.  While it might be possible to open things up to make this work, I think the advice is don't do it.

Also...  I believe Danfoss will soon be offering CS10 remote features where they provide the intermediate servers.  There is obviously some cost with this, but it provides a secure solution and easy to use solution.
