Title: DP200 versus DP250, gray or colour
Post by: Marbek_Elektronik on July 31, 2012, 04:06:40 PM
Hi,
which display is better to read: gray-scale or colour display?
The DP200 changes very slowly the pixels at lower temperatures.
Is the DP250 better?
What displays do you prefer?
Thanks for your answers,
Bernd

DP250 is far superior in my book.  Faster processor and much more eye appeal.
I've done a number of projects with both.  If you're using the EIC on the DP200
you really need to limit your programming on the screen.  As a general rule
I put as much as possible on a controller to free up the screen for
its display functions.

I agree, DP250 is the one you should go for.
The screen is very clear and easy to read, compared to DP200.

I havent yet seen how the DP250 handles cold weather, but then I always put the displays next to some sort of heating.

Thank you for that answers.
Does anyone knows the performance of the screen by temperatures lower than 0°C? (heater on)

Ok, only the pricing is, that the DP250-01-01-04-05-00 (11075900) costs 18% more than the DP200-01-01-02-00-00 (10106883).
I have  to ask, if our customers want to pay more for more performance.

I have heard nothing but good when we change customers from the 200 to the 250, even with the increased cost.  Operators have a hard time seeing the 200 in direct sunlight, as it tends to 'washout' in the sun worse than the 250.  Besides that, adding color to any warning and status graphics catches their eye better.
