Title: Reading Source Code from MC050-055 Micro Controller
Post by: Stephen on January 24, 2012, 05:15:18 PM
I am quite new at this, although I have some programming background. I need to know if it is possible to extract the source code from a Plus one microcontroller, specifically "MC050-055" from one of our cars?

Hello Stephen,

It is my understanding it is not possible to extract the source code from a PLUS+1™ device.

Is it not understood that software design is protected by copyright laws in Canada?

No you can not 'extract' or view the source code from a previously programmed controller. You will need a copy of the source or the compiled binary to program additional controllers.
