Title: hwd files
Post by: paterianus on July 19, 2011, 10:28:42 PM
If I download a new hwd file from the S-D web site are the new feaures automatically included the next time I compile a project or am I required to manually delete and re-install the associated hardware?

You need to change the HWD file in the application manually.

First you need to install it in GUIDE.  Go to setup/install hardware then you see it appear in the Hardware tab on the right.  Then either drag the sys file from the right to the project manager tab/sys file on the left or right click on the new hardware file and select 'use this hardware in project'.

Hope this helps.

Do you prefer to use the newest HWD-File (sys-file) by opening a project in a new Guide version?

I want to open older projects from Guide 5 and I want to do some changes.
One way is to import the project an do the changes.
The other possibility is to change the sys-file at first. Could this produce new errors?
Is it better to change the sys-file?
