does any one know of an easy way to imports EDS files from another CAN OPEN device to enable communication

As I know, at the moment there is no way to import the EDS files.
If you want to change the settings of a 3rd party product, I think you have to use an external program like CANeds from vector.com
If you want to receive / send data to/from the device, there is a procedure from SD with examples how to program a CAN message with Index/Sub-Index...
