Title: multifunction output pin
Post by: lijun0 on May 06, 2015, 03:20:39 PM
Hi,
Can anyone explain the output config for multifunctional pin description on 520L0922?
"It is recommended to use the push/pull configuration for every situation where a load
is exclusively driven by the controller. Use sourcing or sinking when there are other
sources tied in parallel."

What is the difference between " push/pull " and "sourcing" config? anything relate to recirculating diode?
Thanks!

Hi,
push/pull: either sourcing or sinking output is driven. If Out=0 the output is grounded, if Out=1, the output is connected to supply voltage.
You can connect resistors and inductive loads, but no capacitors (max. 100nF?) because of current limit to 3000mA.

In case of switching a load from several devices, you configure for example: source.
So the pin is either connect to supply voltage or open. If it is open, you can also power the output pin from another source.
