DP600TM or DP700 reliable?
« on: June 19, 2018, 11:03:43 PM »
Guys,

question, what display for you will be more reliable, DP600TM or DP700?

I have had some DP610 failed after only a couple of years in use, or with less than 1000 hours of use. Basically one had a graphics driver damaged and it seems that the other one had the same issue.

i had a Dp200 coming from factory already damaged, same thing the graphics driver.

So far i have not worked with the DP700 so not sure if it could be more reliable. I guess after all, most of the internal electronics could be the same

thanks for your comments

Some old DP610 are damaged, because of high temperature (I suppose) on board.
DP610TM : I still have no damaged displays.
DP700: We have only a few at customers and till now there are no errors. Only this buttons are not good to press. Danfoss will produce improved displays.
DP6xx ist classic screen editor, DP7xx is vector based screen editor.
I prefer DP7xx because of very fast graphical design with the new editor, high resolution, it looks like better.

Hi Marbek_Elektronik and Pinias!

A new bezel for DP700/710/720 with enhancements to the look and feel of all push button swithces were introduced 1st of May 2017. All switches became slightly larger and the bevel on the Up/Down Navigation buttons were removed. Also the tactical feel of all switches was improved.

Please contact your local Danfoss sales representative to discuss which display suit your needs the best!

Best regards

Hi Nilla

Are you sure? I asked about the updated DP720 in October 2017 as we were still receiving the old version. Thomas replied that the new version had not went into production as of that time.

Pinias
We have approximitly 20 of each DP610TM and DP720 in the field over the past 3 years. To date we have only had one issue with a DP720 rebooting. After improving the ventlation around the screen the rebooting stopped. Prior to that we have had DP610 screens in servce and the only issue I know of has been the rubber splitting around the buttons but I suspect this was caused by operator abuse.

As Marbek_Elektronik said the screens that use the Vector Based Screen Editor (DP7xx, DP570) are much faster/eaiser to program and offer better functionality. They also look better with the incresed resolution.
