« on: May 29, 2023, 11:23:36 PM »
Hello,

Please, Is't possible to have a backup of service tolls project when the Service-tools program is closing without saving project?
Some times the service tools crash and I lost all modification in the project.

I find this option in setting (see image) but I don't know what it do.

Please could you help.

With best regards

That option creates a backup of the previous saved version so you always have 2 versions, the current save and the previous save.

If you have it checked you will see an additional file with a tilde symbol in the extension like this: -
MyServiceTool.p1d
MyServiceTool.~pid
The .~pid file is the backup of the previous save. This is a normal Service Tool file, if you want to open it just rename it with a .pid extension.

A similar thing happens with the module files (.scs) in Guide except the tilde is at the start of the filename instead of the extension.
