PLUS+1 GUIDE / Re: CAN communication with Siemens PLC
« Last post by Daan on Today at 01:26:54 PM »
Good afternoon everyone

After going through everything again, I already understand a bit more about CAN communication, for which I thank you.
But do any of you know the best way to set up the CAN communication?
By this I mean where I have to set something (for example the IDs) to read the data and identify/name it correctly so that both master and slave know what they are communicating about.
This is not really talked about in the Danfoss documents and videos as far as I have found.

I also have a question for you Pinias.
What exactly do you mean by CAN COB ID mapping and how do I do this?
I also wonder why you don't use a block like this one in the attachment.
Does this have a specific reason or is it more of a personal choice?

Thank you in advance!

PLUS+1 GUIDE / Re: Hardware configuration (EDF file)

Good morning Tor

I must have been mistaken then. I just found the keyboard shortcut somewhere on the internet after a long search. This must have been incorrect information. However, I am still looking for how to export an EDF file from within the program.

Thanks for the answer!

Hello Daan,

I don't know what you mean with this "hardware configuration in PLUS+1 GUIDE"?
I can't find anything about this in any of the User Manuals for the tools.  Where did you read that the shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+H" activated this?

The items with "Hardware" in the name is the Hardware tab in the selector pop out. Install/Uninstall Hardware in the Setup drop down.  There may be more that I forgot.

Do you have more information?

Have a nice day.

PLUS+1 GUIDE / Hardware configuration (EDF file)
« Last post by Daan on May 30, 2023, 02:55:48 PM »
Good afternoon everyone!

I can no longer open the hardware configurations in PLUS+1 Guide.
This used to be under tools if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case with me.
I can't find it in the project explorer either.
I also read that the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+shift+H could be used but this doesn't work either.
I updated everything again via the update center but this did not change anything.
I have to be in my hardware configurations to be able to retrieve my EDF file.
Does anyone know a solution for this?

Thank you in advance

PLUS+1 Service Tool / Re: Backup file service tools project
« Last post by acmall on May 30, 2023, 09:00:35 AM »
That option creates a backup of the previous saved version so you always have 2 versions, the current save and the previous save.

If you have it checked you will see an additional file with a tilde symbol in the extension like this: -
MyServiceTool.p1d
MyServiceTool.~pid
The .~pid file is the backup of the previous save. This is a normal Service Tool file, if you want to open it just rename it with a .pid extension.

A similar thing happens with the module files (.scs) in Guide except the tilde is at the start of the filename instead of the extension.

Telematics / Group Management - working great

I just walked a customer admin through creating a sub-group for one of their customers, creating roles, adding users, and assigning devices.  This works extremely well and easily.  That is definitely going to score us some points with this customer, so thanks all who worked on that.

Controllers / Re: OutputMode 3 vs 6

The controllers are not specifically designed for industrial PLC type 0-10V output signals, check out this existing thread, FluidPowerTom gives a good example of how he has made it work.

thank you all very much!

I'm going to dig a little deeper into everything you've given me. If I have any more questions I'll ask them here but for now I can move on.

Thanks!  ;D
