MODBUS over RS232

Has anyone used the RS232 port in a display as a MODBUS slave?  I would like to be able to respond to a MODBUS request with values in a data map.

Jusy an FYI in case other people are interested.

I have been able to set up a 610TM display as a Modbus RTU slave.  The array has 1000 values and is set up as a holding register.  I can read out 100 values per call.  Seems to be working flawlessly.
