There are two pieces of information which are neither contained in any of the controller-specific PDFs, nor the PDF for all Sauer-Danfoss (SDF) controllers.

1. 'common'
Which pin on the controllers connects to the 'common' for devices powered by a controller?
For example, let's say pin 43 on a MC050-10 is wired to a solenoid.
It will provide 100 mA of current to open said solenoid.
Where does the other wire from the solenoid get wired to?

2. 'PVG'
What does the acronym 'PVG' mean, in regards to output pins?
For example, on a MC050-10, pin 43 is listed as "PWMOUT/DOUT/PVGOUT".
PWMOUT is defined as pulse width modulation output, DOUT is a digital output, but the PVG in PVGOUT is never defined.

Hi ET,

1, typically the drain wire is secured to a good earth on the machines chasis, this can be located at the valve itself, thus reducing wiring etc.

2 PVG= Proportional Valve Group, such as PVG 32, where 32 described the kW rating of the valve,
2.1 = PVGOUT refers to the ratio metric signal requiered by the PVE, ie 25% (2500)-50% (5000) -75% (7500) @ 0.1 resolution of the duty cycle. (pin configuration 6)
