I think NV-memory on controller (MC050-010) is organized in 16 bit, not in 32 bit.
If you write 1 bit you lose 2 Bytes=16bit.

Display is organized in blocks of 4 bytes, but you can use every byte: Write 4 U8-constants and you have used 4 bytes - that is OK.
