Is it possible to program the DP720 through the USB port?
-
Hi LBee11!
No. Other than supporting memory sticks and computer connection, the DP7XX series display USB port does not support any other standard computer peripherals.

hmm, I just wondered because I can do it with a DP250 and also in the Datasheet for the DP720 it says "USB For Faster Download Speeds"
-
Hi,
You can with the 11130519 cable which includes the host and device USB plugs. This cable connects to the rear of the display. You can't however via the front USB connector which is only for USB memory sticks.

Any plans to make it possible to install programs via a USB flash drive? This is quite common and good solution on another displays.

Using the USB Port of the 7 or 8-Pin connector on the back speeds up the download.
It works not via USB-stick, only via cable to PC.
But I don't know, if it is good to do this on machines in the field. I only do this until beta-versions.
I don't know, it there might be errors in data-communikation via USB?

Can anyone point me to where I can get this cable? Anything that speeds up development is a plus, downloading changes to the HMI is very time consuming, especially if the hardware file needs updating.

Hi LBee11!
As Jashom1 also mentioned you could do this with USB cable (device and host) part no 11130519, found in the attached data sheet for DP720.
I hope this helps!
