Displays / SVG Editor

For those that make their own graphics and icons, What programs do you use?

I get kind of annoyed with Inkscape, but I guess it is fine.  Recently a bunch of images I created with it somehow generate errors when opened with chrome, etc.  Still looks OK in Inkscape and GUIDE, but it has me nervous for the future.  Looking for alternatives.  I'm leaning towards a simple web based tool since it is more likely to create clean and simple SVG files.

Controllers / OutputMode 3 vs 6
« Last post by flno on May 11, 2023, 02:21:09 PM »
What is the difference between .OutputMode 3 and 6?
- OutputMode 3: PWM Output, 0 - 10000 [0.01% pos duty]
- OutputMode 6: PVE Output, 0 - 10000 [0.01% of PVE Power]
I know that outputmode 6 is used for driving a ratiometric PVE, but from my point of view there are no difference between the two configuration. If I have 20VDC supply and give command for 50.00% Positive duty in outputmode 3, I will se and average voltage of 10VDC, as I would when using outputmode 6.

Hi, thanks for your replies. However, I am not sure this is what I need (?)
When setting some controller parameters (e.g. a PI gain) from Service Tool, there must be a CAN(?) message from Service Tool to a specific controller, with the information. I am basically trying to imitate Service Tool, I want to send the information from my display instead. But what protocol is Service Tool using ?

My guess is that ServiceTool using the KWP2000 or the UDS protocol when communicating with the PLUS+1 ECU.

But I think it is easier if you save and send the values from the display or set the values from the display and store them in the ECU.
To do that by imitating ServicTool will require a lot of code.

How many parameters does it concern?
If 1000+ I would still try do it with the Non-Volatile Memory component.

Good morning Krijen

Is it possible that you have certain restrictions from work? I am currently using a virtual machine which means I no longer have any restrictions.

Controllers / Re: SC024_C2P03_Status_128_witout load

Hello Guys,

I communicated with Plus +1 help about this problem.
Randy answer me and He would recommend to have an Os.ExcTimeOut grater than 1 this helps resolve this issue.
Because by default  Os.ExcTimeOut =1;
After that everything works good.

Sir Randy would recommend starting with a value 5.
Thank you very much Sir Randy.

With best regards
Hamid

Hello Guys,

I have good news for you

I was tested again my controller in order to be sure when disconnect wire ground all output off controllers turns ON even though the Outputdisabled = 1 (secondary).  It's not normal.  You will find included the test sent to Plus +1 help.

To be brief, I suggested to Sir Randy to make a test in order to convince him. Finally Randy did it and he was convinced.
Here is his answer.

As I told in the my first message of this topics I was sure the problem.
I hope this case will help you

With best regards
Hamid

PLUS+1 Service Tool / Re: Remote Support Methods
« Last post by FluidPowerTom on May 01, 2023, 05:33:08 PM »
We've got kind of a mishmash of solutions that depend on the application.  Most of our customers have a local salesman who calls on them, and most of our salesman who have PLUS+1 customers have the Service Tool on their laptop.  That along with Teams for screenshare can get us through some goodly amount of testing.

Our customers who require the most heavy duty support also tend to have at least one technician or engineer who is technical and patient enough to be walked through getting the free version of GUIDE with which also include the full version of the Service Tool.  However, this has become much more difficult since the only way to get that stuff is through the Update Center, but it's just like an annual hassle.  Generally, if one of our customers has a machine that needs programming support then they're sending one of those guys out to the machine because there's often hydraulic/machine support needed too.  The slow improvement of the CS product line is beginning to help mitigate some field visits.

One major critical step that I learn some years back is that you can create log and parameter pages without having a controller connected in case you haven't tried that.  You can load the .lhx as a diagnostic file into the Service Tool in Offline Mode and set the ECU to that file basically.  Then you can add and tweak parameter and log pages to your .p1d file which you can then send out to a customer/technician.

PLUS+1 Service Tool / Remote Support Methods
« Last post by Scott_MARL on April 29, 2023, 12:09:09 AM »
What does everyone do for remote support for clients?

We used to be able to install a unlicensed version of Service Tool on laptops for a client then remove in and load programs and use service tool to trouble shoot.
With the newer versions, you can no longer create a log or parameters page without a license.

Telematics is ok but over an hour of troubleshooting, at least 30 minutes is connecting and any program update (HLX over 2 MB) will time out and fail. Even Parameter updates are sketchy.

For company wide solutions I can use an old WS103 for wifi and our companies VPN but this is not practical for clients to set up.

What does everyone else do?
