Title: Application data logging
Post by: Jóhann Arnarson on October 17, 2011, 11:33:39 PM
I am using the MC050-10 controller and I wish to create a log file, where I want to record voltage, pressure and several other application parameters.  The idea is to use the remote gateway together with the controller, having the controller log once a minute and using the gateway to download the file to a PC after 24hrs of logging.
In the Guide user manual, p415 it is mentioned that not all controllers are capable of data logging, does anyone know if the MC050-10 is capable of this?
If anyone has used the remote gateway, I would like to hear their experience on how the system works, the good and the bad.

If there is an easier/smarter solution to my idea, please feel free to throw in ideas.

See the attached clip for information on which units have an application log available.  I think the newer DP210 and DP250 displays have the option for this also.

I have used the remote gateway for this, and it will definitely work for logging and transferring the data as you have described.  There are some latency delays with the remote gateway, and downloading the log files can also take a long time.  However, with a little patience it should work.

There is some good documentation for application logging that was presented at the advanced engineering training class, I would recommend asking the Sauer people if they are willing to send that information to you.
